Like previous years different satellite channels are going to air five-day special programmes on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. Around one hundred single plays including 10 new drama serials, almost 50 telefilms and different types of magazine, musical and talk shows will be aired in different channels.

LRB front man Ayub Bachchu, SI Tutul and Aakhi Alamgir will perform songs while local and foreign models will take part in the fashion show. Apart from actor Shahed's participation in the show, mini Titanic (dubbed in Bengali) will add a new dimension to the show. “Meera” Meera is married off over the telephone. She has merely seen a photograph of the groom who works in the Middle East. After the marriage ceremony is over, Meera's in-laws take her to their house where Meera feels extremely lonely. Her husband is to return after a month. While Meera is on a visit to her father's house, the family hears of her husband's accidental death. Without informing Meera of the news, her family find a bridegroom who agrees to marry her though he knows about her past. Under the impression that her husband has returned, Meera goes through another formal marriage ceremony. When Meera appears before her husband on her wedding night, she is startled as the photograph she saw proves dissimilar to that of her husband. What will happen next? “Surer Shongkhochil” The duo share their experience and golden memories of the influence of Bangladeshi film songs on the collective psyche of the audience, the link between films and music and more. Chowdhury Khalequzzaman has a death wish; he wants to commit suicide by throwing himself under a moving train. However, it is not to be a private affair and he starts to elicit people's views on the details of the suicide. Finally, he arrives at the decision that he will end his life under the wheels of train11 Shindu. An unexpected obstacle arises when he discovers that this particular train does not cross the nearby station. Khalequzzaman's accomplices initiate a movement to drive the train to the station nearest Khalequzzaman's residence. Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Shadhin Khasru, Ambrin, Faruque Ahmed, Pran Roy and Masud Akhand play lead roles in the TV play. “Ripu” Human traits such as excessive craving for love, jealousy, anger, selfishness often end up in sin and finally self destruction. Often people forget that their fate or destiny results from such vices. Tele-film “Ripu” features Ajoy, an upcoming entrepreneur, whose initial success makes him over-confident and a prey to these traits. On the other hand, in spite of his success, Adian is selfless and works for humanity, thus leading a peaceful life. Written and directed by Wahid Anam the cast includes veteran actors Razzak and Sharmili Ahmed. Azizul Hakim, Shatabdi Wadud, Mashiyat and Gazi Rakayet play lead roles in the play as well. “Jabbor Ali” The storyline: Protagonist Jabbor Ali, an elderly man is keen to spend the Eid day with family members. But every year he fails to do so. By coincidence he commits a crime and spends the day in jail or he faces an incident and lands up in hospital on the special day. Amjad Hossain plays Jabbor Ali while Chitralekha Guha and Afzal Sharif enact other lead roles. ntv
The story follows Dhrubo, who is a habitual liar. Dhrubo lies everywhere, all the time, to everyone -- at times for personal gains, and often for no particular reason. Thanks to his lies, Dhrubo makes materialistic gains. Eventually though, truth catches up to him and his castle of lies crumbles. Will Dhrubo stick to truth? “Ei Jibon” Raha has climbed up a hill. She has fond memories of this place. This is where she and her beloved used to whisper sweet nothings to each other. That person, Rajib whom Raha trusted and left home to be with, had deserted her after 21 days. Raha cannot go back to her parents, so she decides to jump off the cliff. But Shumon stops her; he came to kill himself as well. The two decide to take a break and muster courage. “Cherry Phool-er Naam-e Naam” The play zooms in on a streetwalker named Cherry and a creative writer, named Rudro, who works at an ad agency. They meet each other at a park. Cherry's life gets a total makeover when Rudro makes her the protagonist of his story. The ad agency turns Cherry into a model. Ekushey TV
A little jonaki (firefly) watches the train from afar everyday and wants to get a closer look. But the young jonaki's mother prevents it. She says, the train would take little jonaki to the land of no return. One day, going against the mother's wishes, little jonaki goes close to the train and notices thousands of red fireflies coming out. After recounting this experience, the mother laughs and says that fireflies are green, never red. Little jonaki doesn't quite believe her and wants to solve this mystery. “Bhondai” Bodu is Chheda Mia's only son. Though in his 40s, mentally Bodu is still a child. Chheda Mia literally forces Bodu to get married. Hilarious episodes ensue at home and at his in-laws', thanks to Bodu's imbecilic ways. “Ondho Nirangam” Lalon Shoronotshob (memorial programme) at Chheuria, Kushtia is underway. Eager to understand Lalon, some foreigners have arrived at the event. They observe the Bauls who have congregated at Chheuria and listen closely to the minstrels' songs. A young boy, Munna, who is Baul Shafi Mondol's disciple, grabs the tourists' attention. His singing moves them. They want to know who Munna is and where did he come from. “Ondho Nirangam” is Munna's story. Boishakhi TV
Entertainment newspapers Notun Alo and Shamsu Vegetable Oil Company jointly host an award show every year. However, the oil company's proprietor, Shamsul Alam gets into disagreement with Notun Alo, regarding the event. Alam decides to host an award show on his own. Two shady individuals -- Mizan and Shaju -- join the firm managing the event and initiate extortion. “Jawt” Anisur Rahman Milon and Farah Ruma play the lead roles. “Shondeho” The play zooms in on three friends on their way to Dhaka. Their car breaks down and they have to spend the night at an abandoned estate. The plot thickens with doubt, distrust, manipulation and climaxes with two deaths. Banglavision
The plot: Hero (played by actor Sajal) is playing in a friendly cricket match and heroine ( Monalisa) is a spectator. Suddenly, the cricket ball shot by the hero hits the heroine. The hero is set to flee but his friends persuade him to apologise to the heroine. When he approaches her, the furious heroine throws the ball on the hero who suffers a serious head injury. He is rushed to the hospital. On regaining consciousness at the hospital, he cannot recognise anyone. The play takes a sudden turn from this point. “Joltorongo” Joya Ahsan, Mahfuz Ahmed, ATM Shamsuzzaman, Hasan Masud, Siddikur Rahman play lead characters in the tele-film. The tele-film circles around an ordinary individual who has no occupation. All he shows a talent for is dipping into water for an extraordinarily long time. However, he does such an outstanding job that it stuns and becomes a lesson for everyone. The tele-film will feature one's beautiful and powerful feeling of love for another. Actors in the tele-film, Joya Ahsan and Mahfuz Ahmed had to dip into pond water for eight hours. “Television-er Eid” Apart from sharing their experiences while shooting for the film, the guests relate unknown episodes of their personal lives. The play revolves around a village idiot Osman. Villagers talk endlessly about his stupidity, which has prevented him from prospering. Everybody takes advantage of his foolishness. At one stage, his cousins grab all his property and he is left at their mercy. Sometimes he tries to protest and all in vain. “Chhanda Ananda” Actors Amirul Haq Chowdhury, Sohel Khan, Dr. Ezaz, Anis; singers Rabi Chowdhury, Kuddus Boyati, Fakir Shahabuddin, Baul Kala Mia; comedians Amol Bosh, Kajol, Pappu and Harun Kissinger will perform on the show and some celebrity couples will take part in skits centering on contemporary issues. “Amar Bou Radhte Janey” From her very childhood, young girl Ranu is disinclined to cook. Her mother tirelessly convinces her to pick up the art of cooking. But Ranu is obdurate and refuses to enter the kitchen. Her mother is concerned. The story is gripping from this point on. “Network” The story revolves around Chhoto Ali who begins his career as a thief and involves himself in criminal activities. One day, he finds a revolver and enters the underworld. He gets protection from a godfather. Within a short time, he becomes a notorious gangster in the city. Diganta Television
The protagonist is the idealistic Reza, who is greatly concerned about the world around him. He is often humiliated by people because of his idealism. He pins his hopes on his little daughter Pushpita, whom he wants to emerge as a successful human being and a concerned citizen. The end of the story will tell us what Reza finally manages to achieve. The play circles around two sisters. The elder sister commits suicide after her fiancé refuses to marry her. The impact of the suicide haunts the younger sister. Later, the younger woman also falls for a man. Ironically, this man too backs out of marrying her. This time the ending is different and she sets out to get to the bottom of many unknown answers. Bindu, Nawshin, Sajal, Shuvo and Hillol play lead the roles in the series. "Ranga Raat" Every night the audience will able to call and talk to the featured artistes. They will also have the opportunity to request their favourite numbers over phone. "Korbani Dot Com" The humorous telefilm circles around two young individuals Abid and Hasan. Prior to Eid-ul-Adha, they devise a plan to offer arrangements for korbani on the internet -- from buying the animal to arranging the butcher. But the scheme boomerangs, when Abid's fiancée's mother learns of it. Finding no other way out, Abid shares the idea with his fiancée's eccentric father. The hilarious plot is a definite entertainer.
